Guest Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Hi there. You have to excuse me but I'm totally new at this. I always thought search engines can only crawl through static HTML pages. OsCommerce, on the other hand, stores the product desctiptions in a database. How will a Google ever find my products based on their description? Is there something I don't understand here? I fear I might create a shop customers will never find unless they directly enter the URL. Thanks in advance for your "lesson #1 in eCommerce". Regards

Guest Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 spiders can crawl through dyanmic pages with no problem, providing you do not allow them to start sessions (there's a feature in the admin panel for this) do a search for your desired keyword, you'll likely notice many of the top sites are NOT html; but are dynamic.. something like index.php?product=blabla
