tntwrk Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I installed OSC and then decided to add SSL. In searching the forums for information about how to proceed, I have not found anything that addressed my problem. SSL in installed and when I enter a path such as https://jrantiquesandgifts.com/catalog/checkout_shipping.php, I do get the indicators that I am now secure. I understand that my configure.php file needs to be updated with the https path. However, when I download my configure.php from my server, the settings are not currently filled in. Here is a copy of my config.php: define('HTTP_SERVER', ''); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', ''); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', ''); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/'); define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/'); define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/'); define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/'); define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/'); define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/'); define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/'); define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/'); define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', dirname($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['SCRIPT_FILENAME']) . '/'); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/'); define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/'); // define our database connection define('DB_SERVER', ''); // eg, localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', ''); define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', ''); define('DB_DATABASE', 'osCommerce'); define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); // use persistent connections? define('STORE_SESSIONS', ''); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql' ?> No information is complete including my database connection data. This is the catalog/includes/configure.php from my server. I thought it would have the basic information already in it or it wouldn't work. That aside, if it is now okay to just alter the file, what do I enter? I tried the settings below and it did not make any difference: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://jrantiquesandgifts.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://jrantiquesandgifts.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'jrantiquesandgifts.com'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'jrantiquesandgifts.com'); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', 'http://jrantiquesandgifts.com'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', 'https://jrantiquesandgifts.com'); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', ''); define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/'); Any help would be appreciated. Michael
tntwrk Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 Okay. After a couple of hours of trial and error, I figured it out. Here are the settings in configure.php that work: define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure? define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', 'http://jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', 'https://jrantiquesandgifts.com/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', 'catalog/'); define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', 'catalog/'); EVERYTHING BELOW THIS LINE I LEFT ALONE Now everything is working fine.
