Changed categories and got Warning & Fatal Error

Ok, I don't know what happened.

I installed last week, fiddled with a few things and everything was fine.

Today I messed with the categories for 20 min and now I get:

Warning: main(includes/configure.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in d:\home\hnt25b193\catalog\includes\application_top.php on line 29

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/configure.php' (include_path='.;D:\PHP5\PEAR') in d:\home\hnt25b193\catalog\includes\application_top.php on line 29

I can't get the catalog up at all. The admin side comes up but that's it.

Any ideas?

Changing categories in osC admin doesn't affect the includes/configure.php file at all.

Check that the 'includes' folder has permissions of 755, so that the programme can access the files inside that folder.

If that doesn't work then check with your hosts to see if they have been playing around with the server setup in the past few days.

Thanks for the suggestion,

It's a windows server so I have to submit a request for a permission change.

Anyways, I went to check my permissions using the osc file manager - happened to click on Images and got this:

Warning: dir(d:/home/hnt25b193/catalog//images) [function.dir]: failed to open dir: Invalid argument in d:\home\hnt25b193\catalog\admin\file_manager.php on line 178

Fatal error: Call to a member function read() on a non-object in d:\home\hnt25b193\catalog\admin\file_manager.php on line 179

I'm assuming that these are all problems related to the permissions on the includes folder, right?

File manager popped up again - when I relooged in, it just worked.

Under permissions, the includes folder lists drwxrwxrwx

Would that work for 755?

You haven't been editing your files using the File Manager in osCommerce have you?

It's a windows server so I have to submit a request for a permission change

That's only the case if your hosting company doesn't provide you with a decent Web Hosting Control Panel! Even on a Windows server you should be able to edit permisisons using a 'File Manager' link in your web hosting control panel.

Vger,

I'm with Hostek.com and believe it or not, there's no file manager in my control panel - in fact there's hardly a control panel at all.

These are the options:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Customer Information

Domain Information

Site Stats

Manage Email

ODBC (DSN) Information

MS SQL

MySQL

SSL

Add a New Domain to Account

Review Billing History

Disk Space Usage

Logout

That's it. I've been using Dreamweaver to do the bulk of my site. I also use SmartFTP and WS_FTP for upoading other files.

Having to use a support ticket everytime I need a permission changed is getting bothersome as it usually takes a day to get a response.
