tino2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Is there a way to add a surcharge depending on what payment method is used? For example, I will be accepting Cheques but as items are of a high value and Cheques can be returned even after 'clearing', I will be depositing them by 'Special Presentation' which costs ?12 per Cheque. So if a customer selects the Cheque module, ?12 will be added to their total. Obviously I can just add text to that effect on the confirmation screen and email but some people may not notice. Cheers, Tino
♥Vger Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Sure, you can edit the includes/languages/your_language/modules/payment/moneyorder.php file so that the email confirmation, instead of just saying "Your order will not ship until we receive payment.", says "Your order will not ship until we receive payment. There is a ?12 surcharge per cheque". You can even put a note on your homepage to that effect. With a ?12 surcharge you won't get any customers paying by cheque - but you can do it if you want. Vger
Guest Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 vger's method should be #1 priority so the buyer has a warning BEFORE they make it to checkout_confirmation (review of their order)... cause if you don't give them a warning they may just leave in a huff. give them a warning, then they can think of their options prior to submission. try this contribution to add it to their TOTAL too: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...arch,paypal+fee
