Smitch Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Hi, Ive changed the permission to the configuration file to 644. Anything less than that and the server automatically switches it back to 644. I still get the error message at the top of the store pages: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/web29/public_html/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. What should i do? Is it a problem with the server or something Ive done? I tried searching for a solution but couldnt find any answer. Thanks Smitch
Jack_mcs Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 It sounds like a server related problem. You should contact your host and explain the problem. They should be able to fix it for you but there is nothing you can do on your end (assuming shared server). jasonabc Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I used to get the same problem. If I used my FTP client to change permissions, the files/folders used to just reset back to what they were. The solution is to change permissions using the File Manager that your ISP provides (in your Hosting Control Panel). This will allow you to change permissions and not have them reset.
