Melisa Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Hi, I'm new to this. How do i chnage the price of an item? I chnage it on thorugh the admin page but nothing is changed even when I add new item and set the price but it is still displayed as $0 . please help. regards, melisa
♥Vger Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 The most common cause of prices displaying as zero on your website, but showing up correctly in admin is a change to the default currency for the English language. There is a connection between languages and currencies in osCommerce. If you change the default currency for the English language to (for example) UK Pounds (symbol =GBP) or Euros (symbol=EUR) then you also need to edit includes/languages/english.php and where you see 'USD' change it to 'GBP' or 'EUR'. It was assumed when osCommerce was written that if your language was English then your currency would be US Dollars :D Vger
Melisa Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Thanks for the reply. It actually didn't show anything even in the admin. Everytime I update the content, it gives me warning "nothing is upload" or something like that. Any suggestions is very much appriciated. thanks Melisa The most common cause of prices displaying as zero onyour website, but showing up correctly in admin is a change to the default currency for the English language. tryout Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Melisaif you find a solution please write it here. I am having the same problem, including the warning. I am new to osCommerce. I have the same problem. After I have modified the price through Admin, I try to preview it, the price stays at zero. Also, the description to the product does not show, blank. The message " no file uploaded " appears at the top of the web page. Also, when I try to copy the product from one category to another, nothing happened. The 'no file uploaded' message also appears. If anyone knows what is going on, please help. :) Thanks.
Melisa Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 HI GUys, finally solve the problem. For those who still have the same problem, try to set the currency that you want into the "default" in the admin page. hope this help. Thanks melisa

tryout Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Guys: I finally get a way to get around the problem. I checked the bug report on the osCommerce support website. There seems to be a bug in the program. When I remove the SSL option from my Admin website, the Admin website works. I can upload and see the price changes and the new product image. When I re-activate the SSL option, I cannot upload and change product price, the price becomes zero. The warning "no file uploaded" appears. I believe that it must have something to do the file permission, but I do not know which file permission must be set. For now, I can proceed with working on the Admin website without the SSL option till there is another way to resolve it permanently. If anyone of you have some idea to resolve this, please let everyone knows. Thanks, Eric :) GOD!ARRHHHHH..............!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is frustrating!
