nricciar Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I have spent a couple weeks cleaning up the product info page for our site, and was hoping to get some feedback on the overall layout, and also the AJAX interaction on the page. The plan is to provide AJAX support in addition to the normal operation of the page being totaly backwards compatible. There are still a few bugs on certin browser platforms (remove dosent work in IE) Some additions to the product page not in the default osCommerce are reviews on the product page, Supplement Facts for products, and a right sidebar that allows the product information to flow around it. I am also in the process of removing/replacing sidebar boxes so most of the boxes are missing currently. Id realy like to hear what people think of the layout (i have thick skin i can take it :) ), and most importantly the AJAX implementation. and without further waiting the url.... http://beta.nutraplanet.com/product_info_b...products_id=303
kgt Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Layout is nice and it seems to work fine. I didn't test on IE. Only thing I'd suggest is allowing quantities greater than 1 without going to the shopping cart page. I can delete items from my cart with much less fuss than adding them. While I do like your logo, it seems to be too large (width wise) so that it pushes the rest of site to the right (I do not use a high density setting on my monitor). Maybe use something like a % option on the image string or some other way to make it fit the monitor that is viewing it. There is also no need for the category box since everything is chosen via manufacturer, so ditch it. I do like the color schema and images, although they are a little large (maybe use a thumbnail contrib?) so the opening page takes far too long to load. Not much to say about the layout as it is pretty much unchanged from the default OSC platform. www.djscollectables.com
Chance Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Items like suppliments that have so many "stats" to compare would really benefit from a side by side comparison system. It would make it easier for me to pick which suppliment has more ma-huang or whatever to see them all in a side by side comparison table than to make me read every single product description in a category and get bored. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. Hard and Cynical: How to Make a Horrible osCommerce Site Warm and Fuzzy: How to Make an Awesome osCommerce Site
