ECHO users: help me mature the ECHO module

Recommended Posts

Posted

OK, I have just installed the ECHO module in a store that processes about 30 or so orders a day.

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,8

I have heard rumors of problems with the module, and have found plenty of my own and have begun to fix them, however I need as much input as I can get.

For starters here are some interesting things that are not in the 1.7.4 module:

1) Errors return to the checkout_payment page. I have a similar but different set of code installed that I will upload soon as "1.8"

2) Better Error checking. I am working on this and have not gotten this particular snippet to work yet... I am sure there is other transaction verification we can do... this is where I need *your* help. Can anyone tell me what type of transactions are getting through that should not be?

3) Verified by VISA/MC Secure Code. I need to call ECHO about this.

4) Misc errors I have fixed in what I call "1.8"

5) Are there any features in other modules that you would like to see in ECHO? Give examples please...

Give me a few days and I will upload my 1.8 and let you all test it. I'm sure its not perfect, but it is important that this module matures, especially for my current client ;)

Hi Gabe,

I installed Echo payment contribution last year on my test cart and it took about 3 tries with some debugging. I'm now in the midst of debugging its installation on my production cart and 1.7.4 is frustrating. I'd love to be your beta test for 1.8! :D

The things I recall about 1.7.4 are:

1. The echo_class.php file in the contribution is an older version than the latest 1.6.1 I found elsewhere.

2. The new version of the class is named "echophp.class" rather than "echo_class.php".

3. There's an unescaped "/" in catalog/includes/languages/english/echo_cc.php.

4. There's a question as to whether I need to put my Echo merchant ID and pin inside the PHP code or whether it's handled from the admin interface when I install it.

I have to get this up and running in the next few days, so please contact me ASAP.

Thanks,

Peter

Gabe,

How is the development on 1.8?

I have been trying to get the Echo Module up and running and have found your post to be most helpful.

My latest issue is the checkout_confirmation page redirects to login and the cart never gets emptied.

Any ideas on this. Please note that I am testing without SSL and am not sure if it is a factor.

Thanks

ganast,

It looks like nothing has happened over the last year on this.

I just found the same problem as sqadeer posted here:

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/lofiversion/i...php/t88470.html

and actually posted it to the contribution list and was searching here to see where it might be posted to see your tread with these links.

Had been searching a while for this type of problem too and search did not help.

It would be nice to see what your 1.8 is like. ECHO has been good but you are right that errors, etc. are lacking in their presentation.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I have been using 1.7.4 for a few years with little problem. Recently, (in Jan, 2007) I started getting many verification hits on my account. ECHO called and told me to change my ID/password. The problem was theirs, they thought.

Since that change, my account hasn't verified CC numbers. (been off doing other things). I'm back trying to get it to work again using 1.7.4

ECHO seems to use 3 identification items. ECHO Merchant ID, Username, Password

You can set a UserName/Password with restrictions to only allow addr verification & deposits (security feature).

The ID/PIN is stored in the DB. My confusion currently is what to use here. I have now (a ECHO new feature I believe) set up using a verification/depotit only Username & Password under my ECHO merchant ID. My question is...what do I put in the OSC DB to present my Merchant ID and this ver/deposit only UserName & Password to ECHO? There is only places to 2 items to send to ECHO in the DB/ECHO control panel.

Somehow now I believe ECHO wants my Merchant ID, Username, & Password (Username & Password for my verification & deposit only account I set up under my Merchant ID). No combination seems to work. I keep getting "Verification of your account FAILED"). Although I can see the transaction info when logging into the ECHO merchant center. There are only places in the DB for 2 account identification items to send to ECHO to identify my account., I assume I need to send all 3 (account ID, UserName, Password). This will identify my ECHO account and the verification/deposit only UserName/Password subset.

Confused after 2 years!

Thanks

Mike
