nsoft Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Does anybody know about non-optimized oscommerce database problems? I've just performed oscommerce customization for my client www.tavor-trade.com. Suddenly I got response "Service Temporarily Unavailable". I was sure, that it was technical problems with hosting company, but the said, that the problem is with database optimization and non-optimizea queries of oscommerce. I can't believe! This is the answers of hosting stuff: "" "Hello, We have noticed that your site is constantly taking more than the allocated shared resources of the Siteground web hosting server that it is located on. Thus, the hosting account is overloading the server and both you as well as other people on the same server have problems accessing the hosted web sites. Please note that Siteground?s standard practice is to immediately suspend websites that overload the server. However, in order to improve service and minimize downtime, we have developed a special restrictive software that allows your site to be up and running until a resolution is found. Note, that you are not limited to a number of visitors browsing the webstie, but to the amount of system resources (mainly CPU and Memory) your website uses. How many visitors will be able to browse the website solely depends on how optimized your scripts and SQL queries are. Please note that your account at the moment is active, however, in order to prevent further server problems caused by your account, we have temporarily restricted it. This means that every time your account needs more than its share of resources, or if the accounts starts to consume too much load/cpu, the account will be denied service and you/your visitors will receive the "Service Temporarily Unavailable" message in your browser. In the case that the account consumes too many resources it is also possible that we suspend the account without further notice. Please excuse us for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I am forwarding your case to Mr. Larry Thompson from Customer Care who will give you more information on the possible options at this point. Guest Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 your host should have the logs stored somewhere in your cpanel that could explain what php pages were accessed and perhaps show the problem or at least where to look for.
