Guest Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Can someone tell me which of the paypal modules to use? I have set up a merchant account with Paypal and installed the Paypal payment module that comes with the osCommerce basic installation. At checkout, the option to use Paypal is there. When a test purchase is made (by me) I get an email from paypal notifying me of a payment made to my account. I have read several logs about people having the same problem with customers not coming back to their store after going to Paypal's site to enter credit card information. I have tested this myself by exiting the paypal window without pressing the RETURN TO MERCHANT button and the same thing happens to me. The notification of payment arrives by email, but the order does not get processed. Can someone explain whether this problem is fixed by installing the osCommerce PayPal IPN Module v1.0 For 2.2MS2 contribution or not? If I should instal it, I need help understading how to do it. I read the installation instructions but did not understand EXACTLY where to instal this new "ext" folder. Please help. Thanks, Edmond
ski2bbad Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I can help you with the ext folder only . . . . sorry. that Folder needs to be in the same level as admin, includes, etc (i.e. catalog/ext). I hope that helps! Ski Can someone tell me which of the paypal modules to use? ski2bbad Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 No. Just catalog/ext. Good luck! thanks, but just to make sure I understand is it catalog/admin/includes/ext?
Guest Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 No. Just catalog/ext. Good luck! Thanks, it installed the Paypal_ipn module correctly. The problem now is how to input all the information required in the set up fields. Are you using this module? This module seems more complicated to set up. I have a full ssl cert with rapidSSL, instalation instructions talk about OpenSSL?

You can find most of the information and answers to most of your oscommerce PayPal IPN questions at: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=179917 I have installed the module just a couple of days ago, but I am working a few kinks out myself. Thus I am limited to provide you answers to some of your questions. My advice is to you is to read through the thread above and refer to it as much as possible. As far as SSL, I recommend getting the IPN setup without worring about it until you get the mod fully working. You can find more detailed instructions on how to initially setup your IPN at: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/lofiversion/i...hp/t177853.html Check the board as you go, as other people (me included) may be having the same issue as yourself. This is often times like solving a puzzle . . . . just try to learn this stuff and have some fun along the way. Good luck! Ski
