I have finally opened my martial arts supply store www.kaligear.com for business. I upgraded to oscommerce from a static html site with paypal buttons to what you see now. Thanks so much to all of you sharing your knowledge in this forum!

Your thumb nail image file sizes are far far too large as your font page too for ever to load (yep I'm not on broadband, but so many other people are in the same boat). You could get away with a file size at about a 10th of what your using. Most people will move on, rather than wait for your images to load.

Thank you UncleSteve. I was thinking so too as far as the header, just need to think about how to trim it down.

I did not realize the thumbnails are too big. I'll try to reduce the file sizes.

If you visit some of the other sites in this group and check out their file sizes, they're all around the 5k and less. I doo like the artwork :)

Some points:

1)Apply search engine contribution by Chemo.

2)Check whether you do have the sitemap or not.

3)Apply Dynamic Meta tag.

4)Prevent sessions for spider.

5)ON home page display different payment Methods you use.

6)Add a support ticket system

7) When I tried creating an account i was forwarded to the following URL

You need to fix your config file.

8)Also check on the font type and font size that is used.

9)Using a very less of screen area so the fonts are less in size.

10)Header image appaears to be in one part slice it and make smaller images.

11)As presently there are no reviews remove the review box.

Thanks to your advice UncleSteve, I'm now looking into Image magic, contribution 3770, to reduce the file size of the thumbnails. I was just letting the browser resize the large image. Also, I have started playing with the image quality settings in photoshop. I'm really surprised there is often no visible change in quality with a reduction in file size.

 

Always thought bigger is better...but maybe I have been living in Texas for too long.

You need to fix your config file.

I wonder if I messed up something with my last contrubution addition or by using a redirect from my domain name to the catalog directory.

Not sure what you mean. I have my monitor at 1024 x 728, and the fonts are small but ok.
