glitzco Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hey all, I've been looking for a contribution, but so far havent been able to find one to match my needs. Hopefully, there's one out there. Basically here is what I'm looking for: Some of the products have various options - colours and sizes. e.g. a t-shirt can be available in red colour and XL size. I'm after a contribution which displays a drop-down box for size and/or colour on the product info page. Ideally, the values in the drop-down box would dynamically change - depending on the availability of sizes/colours for an item. Also, these options need to be enabled/disabled from the admin page as the size/colour options do not apply to all items. If applicable to an item, the user will need to select from the drop-down before they can add the item to their cart. These values will then be displayed in the customer orders section. Can someone please point me to the right direction as this has been a major sticking point to my store launch.. thanks!
Jack_mcs Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 This can be done using the in-built products attributes. Adding the Option Type contribution would give you a better way to offer the attributes though. Jack_mcs Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Product attributes are handled through admin->Catalog->Product Attributes. The option type contribution is downloaded from the contribution section and has instructions on how to install it. The option Type contribution will allow you to add more types of controls used for the attributes. So instead of just a dropdown, you can have a text box, radio buttons and so on. They all function nomally and get carried though the order process.
