Guest Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I have successfully installed osc 2.2 with updates, and configured most everything so thats it runs ok. However, after reading all the documentation and posts I am still confused how to go about setting up the initial page (home) that a customer would see, now the default index.php. Can someone please just point me in the right direction on how to go about doing this. Do I have to create my own new page, or somehow modify index.php? Perhaps I am just stupid. :-"
spax Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 That's a pretty ambiguous question. What exactly do you want to know? The best way forward, imho, is create a static html page, how you want it to look. Make a copy of index.php, header.php and footer.php, jump straight in and start pulling things around to make it look like the html page. If you mess up, re-instate your copied php page and start again. Do it that way and when you hit upon something you can't get to work, then post the question here.

Sorry to be ambiguous, but I was just looking for a way to start and jumping into the code on those pages seemed a little daunting to me. Getting things up and running was fairly easy but I was a little overwhelmed by the code on index, header and footer.php, and I thought I might have missed someting in the manuals etc.
