dmc Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I down loaded the program but whe I open it it will not install I have windows pro. and have installed IIS what do I need to do or am i doing wrong new to all of this Thansk for your help
♥Vger Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 XP Pro comes with IIS available, but it doesn't come loaded with PHP, MySQL and phpMyAdmin. If you haven't already done so then you need to install those elements individually. Best advice is to forget about IIS (a real nuisance if you are a beginner) and download and install an all-in-one Apache package like XAMPP instead (http://www.apachefriends.org/en). Vger

dmc Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 ok im trying to install this locally on the computer I am currently using. to play with be for I up load to the server. I have installed Apache and I am still unable to get it to install. what do I need to do when i hit install it tells it looks for the php info to open and its not there what now.
♥Vger Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Make sure that IIS is not active when you run the XAMPP install. It shouldn't be this hard, it's normally just a 1-click install and it does it all for you. There must be something else going on with your computer setup. Vger
Guest Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Seems like a lot of work to me, i really advise you run this on Linux/Apache so much better.
♥Vger Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Look for a hidden file called Hosts, because it may well have reserved Port 80 for the use of IIS. In which case you'd need to change XAMPP to use Port 8080. Vger
