Direct Bank Deposit Payment Method

Hi all,

Is there a method to use for Direct Bank Deposits. For example, the customer raises the order and gets a final total. He or she then pays that amount directly into my Online Shops bank account using their own internet banking and then the goods are despatched once payment is verifed. I'm not suggesting that the payment details be a part of the osCommerce suite. This I assume becomes a manual process and the store owner and customer would liase by email.

Thanks in advance.

Re., the BACS (Bank Transfer) module. Yes, there are other bank transfer modules, but what I did not like about them was the fact that they printed the Sort Code and Account number on the Checkout Confirmation page. To my mind this meant that there was no point in the customer proceeding any further, and also gave out bank account details to anyone and everyone. At least with this module those details are only contained in the email the customer receives, so time-wasters who don't provide a valid email address don't get the account details.

Yes, I agree with that. We are considering going with just bank transfer or cheques only on our site, to rule out the chargeback problem.

I have been pondering this too... I am in NZ so would the BACs or Ausbank modules work on my site here?

The BACS Module simply provides the customer with your bank Sort Code and Account number. If 'Sort Code' is called something else in NZ then you'd just have to change the wording. You can add an account name if that is required.
