supplier product catalog upload

I remember a discussion / contribution on these boards a while back, but now cannot find it despite my many searches.

 

I want suppliers to upload products to my catalog themselves.

 

Essentially, for them to have a "mini" admin panel (with restrictions - so they cannot interfere with other supplier's products) - or even a way in which they can upload the products directly to the SQL tables.

 

Does anyone recall whether this (discussion / contribution) exists?

 

[P.S. I may just have been a dream I suppose]
