englishchrissy Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Hi Everyone, Im trying to get a new installation working. I downloaded oscommerce-2.2ms2-051113.zip and unzipped into my Apahe2 document root htdocs ie C:\Apache2\htdocs\catalog I then created my database using MySql Query Browser and checked it was ok. I am root on my local server. I then viewed index.php in my IE6 browser and it displayed ok. I clicked the New Install button and install.php was displayed ok. I left both boxes and clicked the Continue button and the same page re-displayed but with this url http://localhost:8080/catalog/install/install.php?step=2 It will not go any further. I am using Apache2 Server on localhost. PHP 5.1.2 and MySql 5.0. Is the problem me trying to run osCommerce on PHP5? My other PHP programs that access MySql database are all still working so it looks like my AMP configuration is ok. Ive spent hours trying to get further without success so I'm asking the community for some help. Cheers Webmaster www.SexoticToys.co.uk
♥Vger Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 The most common cause for installation getting stuck in step 2 is that most recent PHP installations have register_long_arrays = OFF This needs to be turned to ON in the php.ini file (you will need to stop and restart your server to get this change to take effect.)
