gjindancer
I want to integrate my shop www.radecal.net with paypal - I have went to modules and installed it, but it only requires an email address - surely I'd need more for processing credit cards quickly??? Also I have heard there is a sandbox in paypal you can use to test your checkout process, (so I can see if it really is working...) but I can't find it anywhere!! I have searched these forums, and everyone refers to the subject like it was easy as switching on the module in oscommerce, but surely there is more.. I am confused - is there a step by step guide?? or wiki?? Cheers! Dan
egattocs
Hi Dan I was a little confused by this myself when I first started. I don't know if you've already done this, but if you check the PayPal website there are some directions there. You need to sign up with a Merchant account. Once you've signed up, the way PayPal identifies where the money needs to go is via the e-mail address you signed up with. Also, just so you know, when a customer pays using PayPal, they get taken off of your site, and then onto the PayPal site to complete the payment. Providing you have all your settings correct though, they will be able to return to your site once they've finished, plus the PayPal side of things is customisable to an extent. I hope that helps, and that I understood your questions. P.S. As for the Sandbox, I don't know about that. Hopefully someone else can help with that. ♥Vger
To use the default osCommece Pay Pal module you do need only two things: 1. A Pay Pal account 2. To input the e-mail address you use with Pay Pal into the osCommerce Pay Pal module. You can sign up for a Pay Pal Sandbox account, but you shouldn't need this for testing the default Pay Pal module. Vger OK - I probably need more than the default payment module for starters after what I had read, so I installed the paypal IPN function which appears to be installed correctly.. However neither of these work - there are many issues I need to look into, but since on an order, I do not get transferred to paypal, I am only interested in the OS Commerce set-up side.. When I switch either module on to true, and disable all other payment options, my checkout gives me no options and I cannot proccess a payment, and do not get transferred to paypal... I can go into admin and turn on and off each module option, and then see it apear on my shop - but not the paypal one!!
gjindancer
What about set order status? what does that need to be set to?? I've actually tried using both the paypal ipn and the normal module and they are the only ones that dont appear when enabled...
gjindancer
Sorry I'll calm down and be more specific.. The option of paypal has never shown at my webshop, even after installing it.. - I installed the Paypal IPN module thinking it would be a better updated alternative - but that does not show up. Both modules look fine within the admin tool of oscommerce - but neither show up at my checkout! Dan
♥Vger
Both the default osCommerce Pay Pal module and the official osCommerce Pay Pal IPN module work 'out of the box', once you click Install in osCommerce admin and set 'enable module' to true. If you've done those things and they are not working then there is a problem with your website. Vger

Vger Yes thanks for that - I'd imagine they would work "out of the box" like all the other modules are!! So there is a problem with my website - specifically and exclusively the paypal modules - so do you have any ideas??
