Hi i'm new to osCommerce

I've installed a osCommerce template (Monster template #9359)

I renamed the "osc" folder to "shop"

I deleted the "shop/install" folder

I set the "shop/admin/includes/configuration.php" read only

and now I want to modify and change my sites

I need to do it in admin page right?

I tried to open the page " http://www.domain.com/shop/admin/ "

but nothing appears just a blank page

also I tried "shop/admin/index.php" ... the same result

please tell me what's wrong here

is there a possibility of missing or error files while uploading them?

should I or can I upload the admin folder again after I installed online?

plz reply answers here and if possible, e-mail answer/s to [email protected]

thank you

You didn't mention what platform (Linux, or Windows) you are running, but what is probably happening is that by changing the directory name, you have made the DocumentRoot path invalid.

The web server is set up to server pages out of a specific directory, and if you change the directory name, you must let the web server know. In Apache this is defined as the DocumentRoot. It is usually set in the httpd.conf file, unless you have your web server set up for virtual hosts, then it's in the .conf file for that virtual host. On my linux box the path to httpd.conf is /etc/apache2/httpd.conf the path to my virutal host file is /etc/apache2/vhosts.d/xyz.com/xyz.conf. I'm not sure where it would be on Windows, but maybe one of the other forum users can help with that.

You will need to make sure you change the DocumentRoot from "osc" to "shop".

Also, make sure you've edited both shop/includes/configure.php and shop/admin/includes/configure.php to match the new directory.

i found there were three missing files "english.php espanol.php,Deutsch.php"

at www.domain.com/shop/includes/languages

that's why it doesn't show up anything while i was trying to open up shop/admin

after I uploaded them. the admin page opens right away ^o^

thanks anyway
