Thumbnail quality

Is their a way of improving the standard thumbnail quality?? Looked at the contribs section but im a little unsure of these on the fly thumbnail creators, thay look hard to install.

 

I need to control the image size of the section logos, ive created all these in photoshop at 120px x 60px

 

But the product pics look rubbish, im trying to use 300px x 300px sizes for these, then when the customer clicks on the pic it becomes a decent size so they can view it.

I use the contribution found HERE the version I would use is 'On the Fly' Auto Thumbnailer v 1.5 nate_02631 15 Dec 2005

 

The install if fairly simple and I have had good luck with it.

 

You can make your pop up images as large as you want and it automatically shrinks the thumbnails to a good weight for you.
