Imported products into PHPmyadmin but not seen in catalog

Bit confused here as a beginner!

 

I've imported a couple of products into the products table and phpmyadmin (using browse products) show the products have been imported.

 

However, if i view my web page (on my local machine) i can't see the products on the website, - not even doing a search for product model (part number in my case) comes up with anything.

 

I have in total around 20,000 odd products to import from either an excel or csv file, but i obviously want to check that the import process is working before i commit myself to adding that lot! (takes ages to delete - hehe)

 

Does anyone have a solution that i could implement? ( tried easypopulate but having major problems with that!)
