i need to change the admin account and pass.

i think the only way is to re-install

if i save my current database then un-install oscommerce and re-install it with a new username and password,

then upload my old database to overwrite the new one...

will my old database work?

all this for a USER PASSWORD CHANGE...

there should be administration settings for users!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please answer asap!

because if the answer is yes, i need to get started re-installing oscommerse with all my previous mods i had right away!

How did you setup the admin password to start with? osC does not come with a admin password by default so what you have to do to change the password depends on how you set it up to start with.

The easiest thing to try would be to add a username and password using the password protect directories function in your hosting control panel.

No matter how you set it up to start with I cannot think of a good reason you should have to do a complete reinstall of your site to change it.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
