Hi,

I am very new to this ! i have a little HTML experience but none when it comes to MySQL and PHP.

I am setting up an online shop and came across this software - I have downloaded the files and I have just set up hosting with a new web hosting company so I can have MySQL .

I would very much appreciate anyone who has time to help me get started. I am a little daunted by the user guide but feel I would be able to grasp but need some help. Is there anyone out there in the community who can guide me through installing the files on my new server and getting me started!!??

I look forward to any replies,

Sally :)

Hi Sally

I'm new to all this myself, but just thought I would point out the following topic: Quick Install Guide

You might find that'll help a bit, until someone who knows more about it can help you with the specifics for your requirements.

Hope that helps

Thanks Scott !

I have found some website templates using osCommerce for the shopping cart / database. I was hoping to buy one of these templates and wondered if they used the latest osCommerce software?

What is the general concensus on these templates - they are quite expensive at $170 ..

thanks Sally

I know that some people use templates when they are looking for something to specifically fit their requirements. I'm not sure about whether they use the latest software, but just thought I would make sure you realise, there are free templates available, which might be worth looking at before you shell out that much. I got mine from http://www.7dana.com/

Just Google it, or search the forum, and hopefully you'll be able to find a few more free templates that are available. Hopefully someone else will be able to help with the other points to do with the version the templates work with etc. Hope that Helps! :)
