Another Sub Category

Is it possible to add another sub category? I need to list by:

 

1) Type of product

2) manufacturer

3) model of machines

4) sale item

 

In other words from Category; Sub Category(1): Sub Category(2); sale item.

 

I think I'm looking at a major mod here. However, any help would be appreciated.
