Introduce / Refer a friend

Hi there,

I must be missing something, please enlighten me, I've searched through the forumns for introduce a friend, refer a friend, been through the contribs but cant find what I'm looking for:

A customer refers a friend

Friend creates account, enters refers code / email

Friend earns commision on sales made by refered friend

I cant find an existing solution for this, quite a few posts, many without replies.

Thinking there must be a mod for this, please comment,

Ally

wrote that early this morning maybe wasn't so coherent!

So what I'd like to do is:

Existing customer sends a referal email to a friend

Friend creates account and enter's referal code / friend's email

Friend earns comission on what is purchased by friends they have refered

Is there a contrib for this, I cant find anything?

theres a mod exactly like this for the forums i have installed on my server.

and i use that.

people registered on my forums have the same user id as the customers registered to the store.

i give them a credit (commision for the referral) in the forums for each person they refer. (all done automatically)

as for a commision on the sale, you would have to wait for a sale and then figure it out yourself on a calculator (easy enough to do)

i know this isnt specifically for oscommerce but you can integrate it like i did.

phpbb is the forums software and the mod is referral plus

Hi T0die,

Yes I am very interested, its the only lead I have at the moment and if it saves re/inventing the wheel then I am most happy.

Do you have it working as a referal system for osc as well as the forumns, ie. you have it already integrated in to osc?

Thanks,

Ally

Thanks for the replies so far,

I'm surprised that no one in osc has done this already, is this really the case?

Is the consensus that a refer a friend type contrib hasn't already been done?

I wonder if maybe a few people have done this for themselves but havent had the time to make it in to a release contrib?

Any volunteers to join me on making it in to a contrib?

Thanks,

Ally

There are osC affiliate mods. That's what you're looking for. Your customers can sign up as an affiliate then they'll have their own url to send to their friends. If their friends follow that link and then sign up and buy stuff you can set their comission to a percentage. 10%, 20% etc

If you search through there, you may also find other contributions that allow you to do it exactly how you want. Customers can add refer codes in the sign up process, etc. Just start thinking of it like an affiliate program, instead of as a "refer a friend" program, and you'll get where you want to be.

Thanks in the end I went with the affiliate programme mod suggested above and changed that ubtil it worked like what the customer required, basically rmoving the secondary logon, so that when a user creates a shop account it creates a duplicate affiliate account...

Thanks,

Ally
