Guest Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Hi, I want to move my oscommerce store to a new host but not sure how to? Would I just copy the whole files of the site to the new host and export the database? I would install it again but I have a few contribs installed which took me ages to get up... Any advice will help...
AndyG Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 yeah, easiest way would be to copy all the files over to the new host. Export the DB from the old host and import to new host. Then set all the file permisions correctly. Edit DB server name, password etc if neccesary in the config.php

Jack_mcs Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 If the shop on the old host is active (taking in orders and customers), you need to block that shop or access the database via remote host or you may lose data. Jack Good idea! Probably the easiest way is to make a redirect index.htm in the /catalog/ directory and rename the existing index.php to something like index.bak
