carbonman Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Hey all I hope I didn't seriously damage my site here but I can't get into my admin panel anymore. Ive tried creating a new user via my server (Cpanel) with no luck. What is happening is this, I go to the admin URL and the popup requesting the username and password are there, which is normal. I enter the correct usrename and password but then the popup just comes back again empty. Is there an easy fix for this I hope Please help its 4:15 AM !!! lol I need to sleep

Guest Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Hi, I have had this prob before when using with Mambo and Search Engine Friendly URLS. If you use the full path it tends to work. eg. http://www.yoursite.com/catalog/admin/index.php Hope that helps Ben
Jack_mcs Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 If you are using .htacces to protect the admin section, then you need to edit the .htaccess file in your admin directory. YOu should first check your hosts control panel since they may have an option to do this for you. If you are using the administrator login option, then just click on the Forgot Password option. carbonman Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 Hey Ben I try that also and the same thing happens unfortunately Jack, What changes need to be made to the htaccess file?? I can get in to edit it no problem but have no idea what to change. Thanks all for the help
Jack_mcs Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 In the .htaccess file, you need to make sure the path to the .htpasswd file is correct. Then you need to make sure the .htpasswd file is actually there.
