Default certain fields to a ceratin value.

Hi,

 

I love this contribution and I would like to know how to do one little thing that would make it much better for me. When the Batch screen appears is there a way to default certain values so that I can help prevent incorrect values from being entered or reduce entry all together. For instance I would like the start date and end date to defaut to today's date and I would like certain order order statuses to always default to particular values (like 'PayPal Accepted' for current orders and then change to 'Item Shipped'). Is there a simple way to do this? I really have looked hard to find it here in the forums and I cannot so that is why I have posted, I apologize if it has been asked before. Thanks for your help.
