Doesnt HTML supercede the stylesheet?

ok im trying to get an HTML page in the store to display correctly. I have the page set up just the way i want in html but the stylesheet is being applied to it instead of the hard html code. i was wondering if anyone could tell me why that is and if there is a way around it. thanks

I was having that problem too, I just removed the class tag in the code I edited and that fixed the problem.
