Product Listing - How do I...

The product listing section - how do I change the width from 100% to let's say 90%? Where do I find that section in index.php to do that?

I get lost in php sometimes when it seems to say the same thing over and over. :blush:

is this for ALL pages, or for just the product_info.php page? If just for the one page, open catalog/product_info.php and look for:

See the last table define? change that to 90%, and if you wish you can also add in align="center" to make it sit nicely in the middle.

If you want this on all pages, follow above guidelines on every file in your main catalog directory (not subdirectories) - obviously they will all look slightly different, but you get the idea...

I'll give it a go here in a second. I want it for all product listing pages...when you click on a category or subcategory where it lists the products vertically. Then you can click on a product to go to it's own page. So, for all product listing pages. So, if I do just the main product_listing.php page, like tony mentions above, it should do it.

Off I go. I thought I did that line, but I may have done the first reference. hmmmm

Nope, that didn't work. I did have that table at 90%.

This table is too wide, as it is on each category/subcategory product listing, I want it more "skooshed" together. So, I thought if I made the table width less, it would do the trick.

You might want to look at the contribution: Fixed Width Site with CSS

This controls the site from the stylesheet file and skooshes them nicely.

In index.php find the following line:

Ok, that took care of the table, but for some reason I thought it was also take care of the text above the table... name of the category/subcategory we're in and the text and header image. Hmmmm.

Ok, that worked - half way. Meaning that did the categories, but not the subcategories where the products for that subcategory is listed. Example:

Wax Embeds

By using the Header TAg contribution, I was able to add that text above the product listing. Now do I also put the subcategory Name (in this case, Wax Embeds), the blurb, and the little category pic (the pink hearts in this case) within the same width as the product listing table below it?

What Matti mentioned above worked great for the categories one level above. In this example, one level above happens to be Candles.

Main category. So, THAT text, category name and little picture are all lined up with the subcategories listed below. This is how I want the product listing pages to look.
