Hi,

I'm installing osc on register.com, using a shared ssl certificate. The /catalog directory is one level below the root (/public/catalog), but the website instructs me that all secure data needs to go one level ABOVE the root, in /secure/, so it's not even in the path of the public directory. Any thoughts on how I set this up to use SSL? Do I need to put the whole catalog in the /secure/ directory, and then what should the paths look like in my /catalog/includes/configure.php file? TIA.

It's time to bail.

I'll never understand why people stay with a host that's clearly troublesome. There are lots of easy to use hosts available that don't have issues with double folders, permissions, .htaccess and the many other things I see people fighting with.

Why waste your time.

Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux

Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)

Wel, you're probably right, but right now I help. Anyone dealt with this problem that can actually offer help?

it's simple actually. You have to maintain 2 different folders and at the same time synchronize them when you change something. So you have to be extra careful with them and keep regular backups.

at least they don't have dual databases with the same concept :D

Thanks. Now, do I have to copy the whole catalog to the /secure/ folder, and how do I reference it from the domain, and in the configure.php file?
