Guest Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Is there a simple way to strip out all the demo products and options etc and start everything from scratch? Is this a good way to start up anyway - anyone any comments? thanks john
rabbitseffort Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 just go into your admin and delete all that you dont want "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. --Ken Kesey"
Jack_mcs Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 You can go to admin->catalog and delete all of the categories. It wouldn't be a good idea to clear all of the options. That would cause a lot of extra work for no gain. I dont understand enough yet to appreciate your comment about the options Jack. Is there something there I need to take special care over? thanks john
Jack_mcs Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 It is just a matter of deleting the categories. Even if you have 50 of them, that would take a few minutes at most. If you cleared out all of the options, you would jsut have to go back in and set them again. If they are not set right now, you have to go in and set them. So deleting them won't buy you anything. Plus, if there is a setting that may not make sense to you, with it already being set, you may be able to figure out what it is for or should be set to. If you clear them all, you will be starting from lower than scratch. It simply doesn't gain you anything at all to clear the options.
