Order of listed attributes in dropdown?

Is there a secret to the way that the attributes are displayed in teh dropdown boxes? I'd like a "Please Select" listed first so that if they forget to pick anything, at least they dont get a wrong sized shirt, i can email them to ask.

 

my first attribute worked out OK but the 2nd one i entered in came out backward with a please sleect at the bottom

I had the same problem once. Just make sure you have the options in the order you want and then when you make up the attribute do it also in the order you want and it should be fine. I just experimented with my attributes to make sure and it worked perfectly.
