willhoward13
Dear All, I have been studying the site for a few weeks now and thanks for all your posts. I am in the process of building a site (which is almost finished) apart from the e-commerce offering. I am going to sell tickets to events (pretty much solely unreserved so there is no need to insert venue maps and individual tickets) but I was wondering if anyone knew of any examples that were built with OS Commerce. Specific points I am going to have to work out are possible are: - Can someone hold tickets for 15 minutes so they would be off sale to others visiting the site, whilst they pay or decide if they actually want the tickets? - Are there any good templates which I could use for the site? Thanks a lot for any advice/help, it's much appreciated, Will
Myrddin Wyllt
In the true spirit of band-wagoning, I too would like to be able to sell tickets from one of my sites. Serialization to limit fraud is the highest concern, but end-user simplicity is also highly important. Guest
OK< dont know of any off the top of my head, but with the sheer volume of osc sites that are around, I am certain someone somewhere must be doing this.... Right, templates, hmmm. Yes there probably are some done which you can buy for extortionate (or not quite so extortionate) fees if you want to look like everybody else, or you could spend a little time, play around with 5 files and be stunned at the effects, and also be proud of your acheivements at the end. Can people hold tickets......do you really want them to? If yes, then I am sure you could devise a workaround which took items out of stock when they were added to a basket, but the problem here comes when the customer leaves the site - how long do you want those tickets sitting in limbo land, unavailable to your other clients...? Just as a point of order, you could use the attributes for a tekcte seat selector quite easily, with a bit of time and application, this would be very acheivable.
