Recommended Posts

Ok my first post got lost . here is an other one.

What I want to do is to place an image (like a banner ) just above the words -

What's New Here? What's New Here?

Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in? Or would you prefer to create an account?

and then I like to make it so that it changes to different image everytime page is loaded/refreshed.

I need to know which files need to be changed and how can it be done?

Can someone please help. I am sure one of you must have done it. I can this with the non os templates no problem but need advise for OS template version please.

Thanks

To insert the image, find this code near the bottom of the index.php file

		  <tr>
		<td class="pageHeading"><?php echo HEADING_TITLE; ?></td>

and place this before it

<tr>
<td><img src="images/some_image.gif"></td>
</tr>

As for cycling the images, the best approach would probably be to add a javascript that will do that for oyu. There are many free ones availalble - just search the web. You can do it with php but it is not a simple change.

you would put the image in any folder you want to--just make sure the path to the image in that code points to that place

"The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.

You could place a banner ad on your index page. Upload a few different banners (your images) via admin. They will rotate upon visiting the page. I use these contributions to do just that...
