tw55447 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 i just installed os commerce...and now i can't get to the admin page(http://lonestaroutdoorsman.com/store/admin/) to set anything up...i get the error: Authorization Required This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. i can get to the main page of the store, but when i try to access the admin page, nothing works.... any ideas...? thanks in advance, thomas

Or are you referring to the user name and prompt for accessing the admin. If the later, then you'll either need to do one of two things. 1 - change the .htaccess to your needs or 2 - contact your host to set it up properly for you My Contributions Henry Smith
custodian Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Though I am suggesting this, (as a test) you could rename /catalog/admin/.htaccess to something else and see if you then have access to the admin page. If you do, then the .htacces is either set up incorrectly or your not using the proper user name and password for accessing it. It's vital that once you've determined if this is the issue, that you rename the .htaccess back to what it was for security reasons. My Contributions Henry Smith
tw55447 Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 this is what i'm seeing in the htpasswds/store/admin/passwd file... lonestar:feZ/jqn0NC2.Y is this the file that i need to be editing...? or the htaccess file that is in the store directory? what should the file's (the one that i should be editing) contents look like?
tw55447 Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 does anybody have an example of what an .htaccess file is supposed to look like? maybe that'll give me a starting point to figuring out why i cant access the admin panel. thanks, thomas
