ok after uploading it tells you to do this second step:

 

Using phpMyadmin or another tool create your database and user, and assign that user to the database.

 

Now i am totally new to this and i am completely lost on this part. How do i do this.??? please help!

A few questions:

 

Do you have MySQL installed?

Do you have phpMyadmin installed?

What OS / server are you running (Linux/apache etc)

Yes Mysql is installed

Yes i am on phpMyadmin

Assuming your db is on hosted space somewhere, your host should give you the ability to create users for it, through a control panel somewhere. Find this and make user and password specifically for your store. During the install process you will need to provide this information, along with the address of the db server so your store can connect to the db.

 

If you have no db you must create one using said control panel. If you're still not sure ask your host for help setting up the db.

 

If you're setting this up on your own test machine and you have root access the procedure is somewhat different.

 

Sorry it's a bit vague, it's hard to imagine what your setup is like.

ok so i got OS uploaded, i got phpmyadmin uploaded. it now says to create a database!!! does anyone know exactly how i do this i feel like a retard! Please help.

If your site is hosted on a shared server (most are) then you create the database using the MySQL link in the web hosting control panel provided by your hosting company. To create the blank database you usually only need to enter a name for the database.
