STEP 2

"Database Import"

A test connection made to the database was successful.

Please continue the installation process to execute the database import procedure.

It is important this procedure is not interrupted, otherwise the database may end up corrupt.

The file to import must be located and named at:

D:/Inetpub/webs/mydomain/store/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql"

STEP 3

"New Installation

Database Import

The database import was successful!"

...and then when I click on button "continue"

osCommerce teke me again to the first installation page (index.php) :-((((

QUESTIONs:

1 - Why the local directory (D:/Inetpub/webs/mydomain/store/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql) has already been set by the program (How can I change it????)

2 - The importation of the database on my site is OK. (I can 'see' it by mySql) Thus.... Why the procedure takes me back to the index.php page (first page) and doesn'l let me access to admin panel?????

3 - My hosting provider (windows environment) doesn't let me change CHMOD. I've checked them they are 755 for any folder.

Is it a problem/cause?

4 - For local machine I use XAMPP (and EasyPhp).

HELP ME please! ...step by step please

Thanks

You need to chmod the 2 configuration files to 777 while installing so they can be written to.

On your local machine it shouldn't matter as long as you do not mark files read only.

One thing you can do is upload all of the files to your host (which you have already done) add the database manually (but it sounds like your database is already installed ok... then edit the 2 configuration files yourself. Download them to your computer, edit them in any editer, then reupload them.

You can find them in your catalog/includes folder and your catalog/admin/includes folder. Both are called configure.php

Good luck.
