AJAX Attribute Manager support

Guest

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get the AJAX AttributeManager to save the prices in the template. I am dealing with 100's of identical products with over 10+ Options. And adding the prices over and over again is very tiring. Is it possible to bring the price over in the templates?

Any help here would be greatly greatly greatly appreciated.

I install AJAX Attribute Manager on 2 stores on 2 different hosting. One is working fine. But another one got error message in admin/categories.php(When I tried to add or edit products):

---------------

Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.

I put php.ini (with register_globals turned on) just like below:

Please help me.

Thanks

; Considerations;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; If you would like to change the PHP environment for any PHP files
; in your account, make the changes to this file. Then copy this file to
; all directories, including subdirectories, that have PHP files in them.
;
; NOTE: If you do not copy this file to all directories and subdirectories
; with PHP files, your changes here will not affect those files in other
; directories.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; About this file;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
; Under Windows, the compile-time path is the Windows directory. The
; path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overriden using
; the -c argument in command line mode.
;
; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
; they might mean something in the future.
;
; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
; directive = value
; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
;
; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
;
; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
; |				bitwise OR
; &				bitwise AND
; ~				bitwise NOT
; !				boolean NOT
;
; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
;
; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
; sign, or by using the None keyword:
;
; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
;	foo = none	; sets foo to an empty string
;	foo = "none"; sets foo to the string 'none'
;
; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a dynamically
; loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension), you may only
; use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
;
; All the values in the php.ini-dist file correspond to the builtin
; defaults (that is, if no php.ini is used, or if you delete these lines,
; the builtin defaults will be identical).

					; output layer a bit.
					; You can enable output buffering by in runtime by calling the output
					; buffering functions, or enable output buffering for all files
					; by setting this directive to On.
implicit_flush = Off; Implicit flush tells PHP to tell the output layer to flush itself
					; automatically after every output block. This is equivalent to
					; calling the PHP function flush() after each and every call to print()
					; or echo() and each and every HTML block.
					; Turning this option on has serious performance implications, and
					; is generally recommended for debugging purposes only.
allow_call_time_pass_reference	= On; whether to enable the ability to force arguments to be
								; passed by reference at function-call time. This method
								; is deprecated, and is likely to be unsupported in future
								; versions of PHP/Zend. The encouraged method of specifying
								; which arguments should be passed by reference is in the
								; function declaration. You're encouraged to try and
								; turn this option Off, and make sure your scripts work
								; properly with it, to ensure they will work with future
								; versions of the language (you will receive a warning
								; each time you use this feature, and the argument will
								; be passed by value instead of by reference).

Edgar

I adore this contibution, I really do, and I have said so in earlier posts. However, I would like to concur with Edgar in that having the price be associated with an attribute template would be nice (that there are attribute templates is freaking awsome in itself!)

Also if there was some way to have the field for downloads show up when appropriate that would be wonderful. I find it unbearable to have to add each downloadable file through the cumbersome attributes interface in the admin and have not been able to find a contribution that works that manages downloads with the elegance of this AJAX contribution.

Thanks for this.

Hi Just Installed AJAX-AttributeManager-v1.6-beta, tried about 4 different versions, and i keep getting the same error, the error is:

Session not registered - You cant access this page directly

And this appears on the product edit or new page under the price box, where the attribute manager is supposed to appear?

Can anyone help? quite urgent

ugh,

If you are going to use this conrib i suggest upgrading to v1.5 - v1.4 had a few problems. Just download the contrib and overwrite all the files (takes 2 mins).

In answer to your question. Stock osc doesn't have a sort order for the options, option values or attributes. In the front end they will actually be ordered by attribute id. But true, in the backend i have sorted them alphabetically. As most of the sites I work on use the attribute sort order contribution I will be adding support for that in the next release. In the mean time you can just comment out the two instances of.

asort($returnArray);

in attributeManager/classes/attributeManager.class.php

I can see where you are comming from on this. In the next release, i will add the default display order as a configuration optoin for people who are not using the attribute sort order contribution.

Sam

Hello,

I havnt installed the contribution yet. My concern is about the much talked about sort functionality. From what I understand the developer of this great mod has desided not to implement it into teh package. From the quote above I understand that I can use one of the attrib sort contributions that will work together with this one ... correct? So my question is can the author or anyone else advise a sort contribution that will play the nicest with AJAX Attribute Manager? :) And which should I install first?

Also has the "default display order as a configuration optoin" been implemented?

Thanks to everyone in advance.

I installed beta 1.09. Everything worked but the option values were blank. For example. I have nine colors assigned to a product. There were 9 lines displayed but the description was blank. The color descriptions show up fine in my store.

Thanks....this is going to be a time saver.

Thanks,

gerry.

Thanks....this is going to be a time saver.

Thanks,

gerry.

Somehow i had the id's in two different tables defined differently. One had auto_increment with zero fill option. The 'joins' were not working

very nice contribution i luv it, a big time saver, and very pleasing on the eye as well. the only negative comment i have is that since working with it for the last 2 hours, i noticed that at times the cursor get 'stuck in a field and wont move when i hit the tab to move to the next field. i have to take the mouse and click it somewhere else, i dont know whats causing it but all seeems good otherwise.

" thumbs up as far as i am concerned.

many thanks to author and all updaters

Hi,

I have one "feature request" for this contribution. Wouldn't it be great to have different model numbers for all the options? I sell knives which are available with many different wooden handles, different sizes.........

If I have only one model number for a product with about 60 possible combinations it's quite difficult to search for the right product.

Is there a contribution or has someone an idea how to create this feature???

Hello,

I have installed this modification, thank you to the author, it is a great peace of work.

To have seperate ID's for each new attribute would be great, as some products are small/med/large, and have different product ID's associated with them.

Thanks again :thumbsup:

I love this contribution, it has essentially allowed our store to use product options where due to the tedium with the default system we would not have had the patience to use product options. However, as others have mentioned a few modifications would be great.

1) (as mentioned, a lot) A sort order field would be immensely worthwhile. Currently I am using the sort order contribution #1822 in junction with the Ajax attribute manager. While effective, it's exceptionally tedious going through a page refresh on every single product option sort order. If possible to combine the Ajax Attribute Manager with the Product Attribute Sort Order I feel this contribution would be almost perfect.

2) (also as mentioned) The template system is awesome. However, it can be a bit tedious again going through each item and adjusting the price. Currently making a product option price change across many products is still tedious. If a change could be made, then saved as a template, then loaded on each product page the work required to update options would be minimalistic.

3) If possible, incorporate the ability to change how the options are displayed (ie drop-down, radial button, check boxes, etc).

4) Images. Another contribution (#1467) appears to allow the use of images next to each option. The usefullness of this contrib should be apparant and would make for the cherry on the cake if incorporated with the Ajax Attribute Manager contrib.

As this contrib appears to still be in Beta since march, I can only assume the above suggestions have already been taken into consideration. If not, then please do :) I anxiously await the next release of this awesome contribution.

Thank you!

-Jason

first, hello everybody, and congratulations for this great contrib!

Great contrib.....I think :'(

Can't get it to work...copied alle the files, altered categories.php and so on....

There is nothing new to product pages....it's all "stock"

Can someone help me?

i'm experiencing exactly the same problem, with a little more information : it works perfectly on my local server (xampp on windows), but not on my webhosting.

No error code nor anything, just nothing changed on the add/edit pages :(

Though, when I look at the source code, there is a

<!-- [email protected] - AJAX Attribute Manager -->

<tr>

<td colspan="2"><div id="attributeManager">

</div></td>

</tr>

<!-- [email protected] - AJAX Attribute Manager end -->

any clue?

thanks ;)

This is an awesome contribution. not sure how i've missed it till now?

Question - will this be able to support the Seperate Price Per Customer contribution? THat would just top it off for me. I've looked through the thread but couldn't find a solution.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

Hello!

I installed the version "AJAX Attribute Manager - v1.9 beta".

But when I try to edit my Products I get the following errormessage:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: sha1() in .../testshop/admin/attributeManager/classes/stopDirectAccess.class.php on line 74

Has anybody an idea what I have to do?"

Thanx

I love love love love this contrib!!

Future enhancement that would make it even more brilliant: allowing one to view / update the qty per attribute (for those of us who have the "Quantity per attribute" contrib installed. :thumbsup:

Hi,

I have the contribution Attributes sort v.1.2.a installed and it works fine.

I would like the sort input field to show (and work :-)) in the ajax attribute manager also.

As it is now, when I have added new attributes in ajax attr. manager, I have to go back to the standard attributes list (products-attributes.php) to enter the sortorder, instead of beeing able to enter it in the ajax manager.

Please help me with this. It's taking too much time going back and fort like this.

Thanks.

Best regards

I have just posted a version which handle sort order since it has been asked by several people here

Read carefully the instruction as you might require to change the database field it is using to update, depending on the contribution you are using for this functionality.
