Andrea007 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Hopefully I won't get flamed for this, but here it goes. :) I recently started at a new company that has an online store that needs lots of work and maybe a face-lift. OsC looks really interesting, and I'm looking into learning it so that I can change the website around.. I would even be interested in hiring someone that can work with osc and make the site a pleasure to look at. I guess I should share the url.. http://www.iehydrogarden.com I have been looking at the template systems BTS and STS.. Would you recommend one over the other?

Your site is ok but is very like the standard template. No customization except of the colors and the buttons. Nothing much to rate or to review since there is not much customization there. Beside that, I use STS It's a very nice tool to change everything about the look of your oscommerce site. You can even make it look like it is not an oscommerce site. No comments about BTS since I have never used it. Spyros
smurk75 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Hey fellow Temeculan! I live off of rancho california road and always pass your shop on the way home. Crazy. Anyhow, email me and I can get you a lead. I actually helped setup socalhydroponics which uses an oscommerce cart. Good luck. Sam
Guest Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Hey there....no worries on being new - I am - I just haven't shown off my store yet cause I have incomplete sections still. Like your logo - but I don't like the greens for the rest of the site. How about keepign with your logo theme and do oranges and yellows...not the bright shades, but the deeper shades. Picture of store front on main page = nice touch! "You cant beat our prices on items like Hydroponics Systems" - should be: You can't The font for Shipping/Returns is different from Privacy - should keep the same font throughout such sections if possible. When you click on a product to read it's description and such, the script for "this product was added to our catelog on.." is still there, but the date has been disabled .... either add back in the date script or take out the whole line. Otherwise, nice job!
Andrea007 Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 Moonlight: Thanks for pointing those things out, I wouldn't have noticed those issues unless I was told :) I've noticed that the thumbnail pictures look all scrunched up like on here http://iehydrogarden.com/index.php/cPath/175 and I was wondering if they had possibly put the images contribution in, and that is what's messing up the thumbnails.. What do you think?
