html editor (WYSIWYG preferred) that works older mac browsers - htmlarea does not

I'm building my store and have used the cre loaded version of osc (nice features). The newsdesk and faq modules have an adequate html editor. HTMLArea is installed and I can view it on my wifes windows machine running internet explorers. My work machines are older macs running 9.2 and 10.1 with IE.

Problem: htmlarea doesn't even show up!

Either I'd like a way to port over the html editor from the other modules or make html area work. I will not buy a new computer for this project. Any thoughts truly appreciated.
