I'm trying to set up My wife's Web page with E commerce and I get this message. I don't know wheres its making reference to the server files or my local folders regarding the site

(You chose to install in the main directory of the domain dandgiftbaskets.com,

but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed.

Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain

dandgiftbaskets.com (path="/home/dandgift/public_html/").

You must manually remove these files before proceeding with

auto-installation:.htaccess

images)

HELP PLEASE!

thanks DAVE

Is this a package your trying to install from your hosts member control panel? If so, it may be an old copy or one thats been modified by them.

I would suggest you download a clean copy from here, FTP into your webspace, backup and then delete everything that's already there then upload the new osCommerce and install it. If you run into any issues, you can always re-upload your backed up files and contact your host.

Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.

If you want the oscommerce website to exist in the root of your domain (www.yourdomain.com) then upload the contents of the catalog folder, but not the folder itself.

If you wish the oscommerce site to be in a folder called 'catalog' (www.yourdomain.com/catalog) then upload the whole of the catalog folder.

You don't need the 'Extras' folder.

It sounds from the error as though a .htaccess file already exists in the root of your web. Rename it to txt.htaccess and you will be able to proceed with the install.
