Running several stores with a shared customer database

On my website www.unsigneddirect.com i want to use paypal for customer to make a quick purchase, however i also want to be able to offer customers the choice to pay using Centipaid at a 33% reduced rate. Because consumers would be required to register with and upload credit on advance in the Centipaid payment system we want to call this the 'account' option.

 

To make life easier would it be possible to run both these stores using the same custoemr database so people would only have to register once to use the whole site; also would it be possible to share the products database, or would this mean that the prices would have to be the same on both version?

this is actually quite easy. Upload your second store, delete the admin, then connect the second store to the same dbase as your first one. If both are offering the same products, same categories and same prices its as simple as that. If not, you will need to add a couple of columns into your db, and add admin functionality to manage them as well as tweaking the relevant code to read the correct data. Fairly easy though!
