I want to better understand $this->contents

I want to better understand $this->contents, esp as used in includes/classes/shopping_cart.php. Where can I go to learn more about it, searches on the forum and on the internet just aren't specific enough as neither recognizes the whole statement and mostly I am getting results that have both "this" and "contents" and you can imagine the number. TIA.

In releation to your question. $this->contents is a variable within that class the same as outside a class $contents is a variable, just accessed differently.

nimmit, helps tremendously. I've found a lot of help in the past at php.net but I wouldn't have known what section to go to. Sometimes one just needs to know where to look. Hasn't solved the issue :'( <yet> but I'm better understanding how to get there.
