Problem with Buttons

Using the osc default set up, ie post installation, the place holders which should have the buttons, like Continue and Quick Find etc have no image but a red cross. The default images for the categories are showing correctly.

I have displayed the properties box by right clicking on the image place holder to reveal the path of the image and followed it through using explorer. It appears okay.

 

For the buttons here is the path to the actual file:

 

C:\phpdev\www\catalog\includes\languages\english\images\buttons

 

This is the path show in the image place holder:
