Guest Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 As much as I love the 'free spirit' of the osCommerce is an online shop e-commerce solution, sometimes it starts to get old. Every time I think all systems are go, another little bump happens. Here it is: I got a payment for a large order whoes payment came trough, but I had no idea what the client had ordered, no record in my admin. I tortured the poor customers with stupid emails trying to figure out what happened, thinking she did not check out correctly. Than by picking through the MySQL Database item by item, I replicated her order. This time it showed up in admin but no email. Since I set up an email to be the customer I did get however a confirmation of the 2nd duplicat order. Something strange going on in oscommerce again. Anybody???? Thanks Wolfgang

If this is the case then you need to go to your Pay Pal account, go to Profile, and sign up for their Auto-Return feature. This will return customers to your website within a few seconds of them completing their Pay Pal payment. Without the auto-return feature you are reliant upon customers clicking the Continue button on the Pay Pal website to return to your site. If they don't return then no order e-mails get fired off and the database doesn't get upated. The Return URL is something like: http://www.yourdomain.com/checkout_process.php edit as necessary for your domain. Vger

Never had this happen before, and my tests did work fine. Thanks Wolfgang Follow up on this one, custsomer somehow was able to pay without finishing the order. All items where still in basket. With master password I was able to finish the oder. The customer actually did not know about it. Strange things will happen. Wolfgang

Thanks Wolfgang I am having the same issue. I have tried everything listed here in the forums. My gateway Tech support says it is a redirect issue in the OSC software. Has wnyone been able to solve this. I can not go live until I have it resolved. Any help???? Thanks TBMak
