My question is, can i create a new folder and put a new version of oscommerce in it to test contribs without affecting my fuctioning store? For instance locate the test version at http://www.mysite.com/test?

And once it's created would my test oscommerce website know to use this database each time I make changes or would I have to toggle back and forth between them?
