How bout just uploading a zip????

Hi there everyone. How are ya all?

 

I have been floating around the boards for awhile now and have been using osc for quite some time also.

 

I had a thought, only a thought, as my programming knowledge is not in the highest standards. :blush:

 

Part of my company deals with osc and the other half deals with Joomla. Ya Ya I know...what does Joomla have to do with osc right? well nothing, but a whole bunch at the same time.

 

I have seen a programmer install 10 components into Joomla before i could get one mod into osc, excluding the very basic mods. Unlike the gift voucher one :P

 

Anyhow, I become the butt of the joke more often than not because of the time difference involved.

In Joomla, you go adn download the component, go to the admin of the joomla, upload the zip adn VOILA, the component is installed.

 

Now, like i said, i am a rookie in programming compared to the team who wrote OSC, but can someone tell me why osc cannot run like Joomla?

Why must we edit 99 pages for one mod and the joomla programmers only need 3 minutes to install components?

 

Seems to me, we are working harder, doesnt seem fair :P :D
