da404LewZer Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Hey there, i just setup osc for the first time, and i really like it so far.. however one little question. i dont have any payment modules setup yet (my bosses fault), so i'm trying to understand this w/o being able to test it. Suppose i have the 3 default status options: pending, processing and delivered. How am i to know if a payment actually went through? In the test orders i've placed, i've used 'cash on delivery' and the default credit cart module. But nothing is as clear as PAID or UNPAID.. why is this? it is possible that they haven't paid yet, but it's processing because it's a custom job.. or HAVE paid and it's also processing... i guess what i'm saying is, i dont want to have to rely on notes such as 'they paid' or having a million status options. another thing, is there any type of 'make a payment' button? like.. 'oh hey, i stopped by to pay this with my credit card instead of cash..' if not, i'll write my own modules, i'm just trying to save myself some work as the project still has a lot of modifcations.. any help is appreciated, thanks!! (keep in mind i cant go live yet or use actual money accounts until i know this will work, go figure huh) -charlie
vasttech Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Welcome to osCommerce. The order status (Pending, Processing, Delivered) is set manually when you look at the order through the admin area. If you use a contribution like the PayPal IPN it will set the order status when it is received from PayPal automatically. I assume you other question is referring to a Point of Sale type module. This is not a default option with osCommerce, but there are a couple of contributions that you can use for this. Check out the contributions. Good Luck! osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions
