bookseller Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 hi, i need some help restricting browsers from a specific country from accessing my website. i have to receive a lot of fradulent emails and transaction from a particular place and most these are fraud. i was wondering if it possible to restrict people from that country from accesing my website. i believe there is some way of detecting from which country a browser is accessing the site and to do re-direct to any other link. Is it possible to do such a thing with Oscommerce and if yes, then how? any feedack or suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Instead of blocking countries to your site as a whole you can maybe better restrict the country list for your customer account creation. If they can't sign up they can't order.

If they can't sign up they can't order. hi, the main objective isn't not to allow them to shop my site, but to restrict my competitors or my vendors or say anyone else from my region to see what is offer. we export silverware and do not want our suppliers etc to check the price at which we sell. Though i think there is no fool proof way to do the same, it does help a lot. For. eg. a site www.silvershake.com is not accessible from many asian countries to prevent businessmen from these areas to explore the potential market for silver jewelry, sourced from thailand, in USA. any ideas will be welcome.
